After The International, the 2019 Dota 2 premier competitive season has almost ended. What’s left for this year is ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore and MDL Chengdu Major. We saw an amazing 2019 with MDL Major, Epicenter Major and the largest prize to date in TI9.
Another year is going to start soon and Teams will start to collect Dota Pro Circuit Points (DPC) once again. 5 Major events and 5 Minor. The Majors of 2020 will take place on:
November 16-24
January 18-26
March 14-22
May 02-10
June 20-28;
and the minors:
November 05-09
Jan 07-11
March 03-07
April 22-26
June 09-13
The details about the tournaments are still not determined, but at the end of 2019 valve is to release the information for the public. The hosts and locations are also not yet chosen.
The International 10 will take place next year and the prize pool should break another record, as it does every year. Maybe the cake will be over $40,000,000. Will we see OG take the title for the third time or will some other team triumph? The teams still have a whole year to prepare for the competition. There’s going to be a lot of new patches and game changes coming their way. The META will change so some new interesting pick will be seen throughout the year again.
The first Major that will count toward TI9 is MDL Chendu Major with 15000 DPC in China, Chengdu. Sixteen teams will participate on November 16-24, Fifteen teams will claim their spot from regional qualifiers, at least two from each region, and the champions of DOTA Summit 11 will also get a spot in the Major. The format will be GSL Group Stage Double Elimination Playoffs, all games will be Best of 3s and the Grand Final of course Best of 5. Teams will contend for the $1 Million prize pool and 15000 DPC. The qualifiers have not taken place, so we have to wait for them to happen. 1st place will take $300,000 and 4850 DPC as their prize.
